Swim-Inc is a non-profit 501c3 tax-exempt organization that provides a safe and supportive environment for adults with mobility impairments to participate in water exercise programs throughout New Jersey. These classes are offered generously, freely, and graciously at local swimming pools throughout our communities led by a site Aquatics Instructor or volunteer Chapter Coordinator for adults who suffer from Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Parkinson’s Disease (PD), Stroke, Post Polio Syndrome, Arthritis, and other mobility impairments. They are not swimming lessons but are an organized exercise class provided in a pool (similar to Aquatic Therapy) which many people with impairments may find to be a better way to exercise then on dry land.
There is no individual membership at a host site required to participate in a SWIM class, but a free application and a filled medical clearance form from your Doctor must be presented at the time to register.
You can access their website at www.SWIM-Inc.org for more information, details about the pool locations, and times these free classes are offered, or you can stop by either of our locations to receive a SWIM-Inc Brochure, required forms, and an area class schedule.
